Dreame AP5 Air Purifier

Dreame is one of my favorite brands, and I already have several of their appliances around my home, so I had pretty high expectations for this air purifier. So far, it has been exactly what I was looking for. I keep it in my living room and it runs very quietly. Once I’m in the bedroom, I can’t hear it at all. The display is also really useful because it gives you a quick reading of the air quality without having to do anything complicated. I also really appreciate that it has a button lock, which prevents kids from accidentally turning it off or changing the settings. With children at home, that’s a very important feature for me.

It’s very straightforward to use. Plug it in, turn it on, set it to Auto, and that’s pretty much it. I did have a little trouble connecting it to the app because I think the instructions could have been clearer, but I eventually figured it out on my own. I don’t use the app very much anyway, but it’s nice to have the option. The design is compact and looks really nice in the room. I haven’t tried the aroma function yet, but it’s a nice extra to have. Overall, another solid Dreame product that does exactly what I wanted.

This Dreame APS air purifier is very nice looking for an air purifier. It's not just plain white, but has subtle diagonal stripes that go nicely with the gray vents on top and the silver accents. Dreame always seems to make the best looking stuff.

The air purifier works great too. I've tried it in multiple rooms, and I like that it gives a reading of the air quality. Since my family is dealing with some allergies, I have it set up in a bedroom for now. It's whisper quiet on the low setting, although it does get louder on the higher settings. It's noticeable in a quiet room, but not extremely loud.

It comes fully assembled. From opening the box to getting it up and running took me less than five minutes. I appreciate that you don't have to download the app in order to use it. You can just use the controls on the unit to turn it on and off, operate everything, and adjust the settings. If you do download the app, you can also use your phone as a remote control.

I really have nothing bad to say about this air purifier. It looks great, works well and is very easy to use. Five stars.

If you're new to air purifiers, this is a pretty approachable place to start. The noise level genuinely surprised me. It's quieter than I expected, especially once it settles into a steady speed. There is a loud ramp-up when it kicks on or shifts gears, but it's quick and then it calms right down. Sleep mode is legit usable if you're a light sleeper.

The app works well as an alternative to manually adjusting the unit or using voice control, but heads up: it asks for a lot of personal information, including your location, which it really doesn't need to function. You can opt out of sharing that stuff, so just go through the setup carefully and decline what doesn't feel necessary.

One thing worth mentioning for anyone setting this up for the first time: there is a plastic sleeve on the HEPA filter that's there to protect it before use. Pull that off before you run the machine. It's easy to miss and I imagine a lot of people skip right past it.

Replacement filters run around $100 a year, which sounds steep at first. But if you deal with allergies, that cost starts to make a lot of sense. Clean air isn't exactly something you want to cut corners on, and honestly I've spent more money on things that did a lot less. The 3-stage filtration covers large particles, fine allergens, and odors, so you're getting decent coverage for the price of the unit itself. The aroma diffuser is easy to use and fills the space nicely.

The DREAME AP5 is an interesting all-in-one air purifier, especially if you also want some additional humidity in the room. Having purification, humidification, and an aroma diffuser in a single unit reduces the number of separate appliances you need sitting around.

The PM2.5 monitoring and automatic mode are convenient for everyday use. I also like having app control, since I can check the air quality and change the fan settings without having to interact with the purifier directly.

At 161 CFM for smoke, I would temper the advertised 1,346 sq. ft. coverage somewhat. It's certainly usable in a large room, but if you want frequent air exchanges for serious filtration, the practical coverage area is going to be considerably smaller than that maximum marketing figure.

The three-stage filtration system is straightforward, and the activated carbon layer is useful for everyday cooking and household odors. As with most purifiers, long-term value will depend partly on the price and availability of replacement filters.

Overall, this is a versatile purifier with a nice combination of features. I particularly like having the humidifier integrated into the same appliance, along with PM2.5 monitoring and app control. Just don't interpret the maximum 1,346 sq. ft. rating as meaning it will purify that entire area as aggressively as a larger, higher-CADR machine.

I've been very happy with the DREAME AP5 Air Purifier. It noticeably improved the air quality in my home within a short time, especially in larger rooms. The 3-in-1 filtration system does a great job capturing dust, pet hair, pollen, and other airborne particles, and it has helped reduce odors as well. Despite its powerful performance, it runs quietly, making it perfect for bedrooms, living rooms, or home offices.

The purifier is easy to set up and operate, with intuitive controls and a sleek, modern design that blends nicely with any décor. It feels well-built, and the fan speed options make it easy to adjust based on your needs. After using it regularly, the air feels fresher and cleaner, and I appreciate how efficiently it covers large spaces. If you're looking for a reliable, quiet, and effective air purifier for a larger room, this is an excellent choice and offers great value for the price.
