Did research before purchasing… and D10 lived up to & exceeded my expectations!

Let me preface my review by saying that I am a certified clean freak. I can’t stand to let anyone else clean my apartment because I think I am the only one who can “do it right” — my standards for tidiness are high! About a year ago, vacuuming every day/mopping twice weekly became a challenge when my work and school schedule changed. I’d considered getting a robot vacuum but the only one I was familiar with belonged to friend, and the robot was constantly knocking into things and making a racket when cleaning. I didn’t think it would be an option my pup, who is nervous by nature, would accept in our household. Because the vacuuming was becoming such an issue, I cast aside that assumption and half-heartedly began researching different brands/models that could satisfy the needs of my home, like…
    1. Suction & Efficiency in Cleaning—I wanted a model that could actually pick up dander, dog hair, and debris from floors and carpets alike.
    2. Noise—the robot shouldn’t cause a major disruption in my apartment. My dog is nervous and I work/study from home—our household is relatively quiet and we like it that way.
    3. Control, Scheduling, and Notification App for iPhone—I wanted to set a schedule for cleaning that was different each weekday, the ability to communicate with the robot from my phone, and to be notified of when parts needed to be replaced.
    4. Affordability—the robot itself and replacement filters and parts needed to be reasonably priced, considering the vacuum would be running at least once a day and replacing parts would be necessary semi-regularly.
    5. Maneuverability—offloading chores to the robot should allow me more time, meaning I don’t want to be saving the robot from being stuck all the time or watching it putter around under a chair leg unable to free itself. It should be “smart” enough to navigate around on its own.
    6. Auto-empty dock with long-lasting dust bags— the model should not require me to empty out its filter manually after each cleaning.

Obviously, I am a bit of a nut. But all the nutty research paid off—I located the D10 Plus by Dreamehome and decided to give it a shot, and I now swear by this robot vacuum!

As far as suction, this little robot packs a huge punch. I have a high pile wool carpet in the living room that is notorious for clinging onto hair, pieces of dog treats, etc., yet Robot Butler (AKA my D10) manages to keep it debris-free. When the robot senses being on top of a carpet, it automatically increases its suction mode from “sweep” to “turbo.” The carpet appears noticeably cleaner after Robot Butler makes his rounds.

Turbo is the only mode that makes much noise, and my dog (Sonny) is rarely disturbed by the vacuum unless they meet each other while the robot is working and my dog is standing, and even then Sonny just ends up confused instead of scared (lol). As for the application, I love the scheduling options & the auto mapping function. The vacuum will tell me when something needs replacing, including the vacuum bag in the auto-empty dock. There is no guesswork or troubleshooting with this machine. It tells you straight up what it needs and when—wouldn’t it be nice if all communication was this easy?!

The replacement parts are affordable; despite running the machine six to seven times a week, the replacement parts a) aren’t required as often as I thought they would be, and b) don’t deplete my wallet when they *are* required. They often come in packs of multiple parts that last quite a while. No frivolous spending necessary.

The robot has sensors to navigate around obstacles, and if the dog & vacuum meet, the vacuum moves itself away autonomously. The only thing I need to do when I wake up in the morning to make sure Butler has a successful run is to move loose cables/cords out of his way. Additionally, the application, which I can’t say enough good things about, allows users to set up “off limits” zones. I set the underside of my desk as off-limits & I haven’t had any issues with Butler sucking up a cord or getting stuck. Also, I have a round dining table. The robot navigates itself around each chair leg at the table, and the auto-mapping on the application reflects where the robot has identified each chair leg (pretty cool). The Butler has no problem getting under the table and moving itself around each leg. I was so impressed… Technology is so wild and useful!

All in all, the machine really does what it is meant to do, and then some. It even mops when I’m too lazy to do it (and you can set boundaries for when/where the robot uses the mopping function in the app). The performance continues to impress me, has lightened the load of chores I need to do personally, and enables me to feel comfortable in my home when I return after a long day of work—there aren’t any dog hair dust bunnies tumbling around. Thanks, Dreame—your brand name really does fit your products! For this clean freak, owning the D10 has been a “Dreame!” ;-)

    Best robot vac

Great product! Advanced mapping, object avoidance and power is the best among the other brands I have had, Shark, Samsung and Roomba can’t hold a candle stick to Dreame!

    Great Simple but SMART Robovac

I love this ‘simple’ robovac! I say simple because we also have an X40 Ultra which we use downstairs. We use the D10 Plus Gen 2 strictly upstairs which is predominantly carpet and we don’t use the mop feature as we don’t need it. I was looking for a vacuum only robot with the app and features of the X40 Ultra and it doesn’t exist but simply removing the mopping component of this robovac has met our needs. I love the auto-empty feature and the Dreame Lidar mapping is the best in the business. If you’re looking for a ‘simple’ and economical robovac, this is it!

Comparable to my old more expensive Roomba

This vacuum is pretty comparable to the more expensive Roomba that I've used in the past. I really like how it does both vacuuming and mopping, and the self-emptying base is nice so I don't have to constantly maintain the thing like I've had to with my Roomba.

The suction power is pretty good and works great at picking up dirt, dust, and pet hair on my hardwood, tile and carpet flooring. And I really like how it avoids the trash and toys that my kids leave all over the floor. But the best part is that it doesn't constantly get stuck underneath my couch like my Roomba used to do all the time -- which completely defeated the entire purpose of running it when it only ran for about 5 minutes before getting stuck. So overall, I def recommend it!
