Stacked air fryers, dual zones, and finish-sync timers have been on the market for a while, so the general concept is definitely not brand new. However, Dreame actually tackled a few specific design headaches that other dual-basket fryers suffer from.

Where Dreame Actually Improved Things:

Different Airflow Styles for Each Basket: On most dual-zone fryers, both sides blow heat the exact same way. Here, the top drawer gives a strong downward blast to crisp up fries and wings, while the bottom drawer circulates heat more like a small oven so veggies and fish do not dry out.

Side Venting Instead of Rear Venting: In my opinion, this is one of the best changes. Older air fryers usually shoot hot steam and grease straight back against your drywall or backsplash, but this one vents out the left side to protect your kitchen walls.

Ceramic Instead of Cheap Non-Stick: Instead of regular non-stick coatings that can peel or give off a chemical smell when heated up, the baskets use a smooth ceramic coating that wipes clean easily.

Easier Control Layout: Instead of jamming the buttons onto a narrow side strip or on the basket handles themselves, the angled touchscreen sits right on top facing you, making it much easier to read while standing up.

More Tolerable Fan Noise: It is generally quieter than older air fryers when you are only using one basket. You can still hear it running, and once you have both baskets going at the same time, it definitely gets louder, but it is still a bit more muted than other models.

A few points to keep in mind:

Needs Vertical Clearance: You save horizontal counter space, but it is quite tall. It's highly recommended that you measure the space between your counter and upper cabinets before buying to make sure it will fit.

Stiffer Lower Basket: The machine stays stable on the counter, but the bottom drawer is noticeably more difficult to slide out and push back into place compared to the top one. Not sure if this is by design or if it's something on my machine.

Heating Element Innovations Don't Speed Things Up: There is clever engineering with how the heating elements and airflow are placed at the top, but do not expect it to decrease time off your meal prep...in my experience, cooking times are pretty much similar to other air fryers in its class.

Overall, it feels like a well-thought-out upgrade over earlier stacked models if you want to cook two separate dishes at once without losing half your countertop! Good entry by Dreame into the air fryer space.

I have come to expect nice things from DREAME and this air fryer does not disappoint. One of it's standout features is it's dual oven stacked on top of each other. This alone has earned it coveted space on my countertop since it takes very little room compared to my older side by side double air fryer. That one takes up so much room that it lives in the garage and as a result never gets used. The digital display is very nice and thought out with it's multiple presets and almost intuitive controls. The fact that it's angled towards you makes it easy to read from a standing position. It will sync the two ovens so their both done cooking at the same time. I thought it would be difficult to program but that's not the case though I did have to consult the instructions. You can use it for cooking four different items if you use the included racks with each oven having a 5 quart capacity. It big enough to accommodate most families. The top oven is the crisp zone with the bottom being the tender zone so you can cook different type foods at the same time. It will auto shutoff if your the forgetful type and the handles don't get hot, though the sides do so I wouldn't put it next to something flammable. It's very easy to clean, for most meals all I have to do is wipe it out but the baskets can be washed in the dishwasher if needed. Lastly this is a very attractive looking airfryer. I'm going to have to upgrade my older appliances, It's putting them to shame. I do think this is an expensive unit, but quality costs.

The vertical dual-basket design is a great use of counter space. You still get a total of 10 quarts of capacity, but it takes up considerably less horizontal space than the typical side-by-side dual-basket air fryer.

I also really like that Dreame includes the wire racks. With my Ninja Crispi Pro, I had to purchase similar racks separately, so having them included here makes the package feel more complete and gives you more flexibility for cooking multiple foods.

The ceramic-coated baskets are easy to clean, and the angled controls are conveniently positioned. Being able to synchronize the two baskets is also useful when cooking foods that require different temperatures or cooking times.

One weakness is fries. In my experience, this doesn't get them quite as crispy as my Ninja Crispi Pro. The Dreame's maximum cooking temperature isn't as high, and that difference becomes noticeable with foods where you really want intense heat and maximum crisping.

Overall, I like the DS50 for its capacity, space-efficient design, included racks, and versatility. The Crispi Pro still has the edge for things like really crispy fries, but the Dreame is the more practical option when I want to cook larger quantities or multiple foods at once.

I've been extremely happy with the Dreame DS50 Dual Basket Air Fryer. The dual-zone cooking feature is a game changer, allowing me to cook two different foods at the same time with separate temperatures and cooking times. The 10-quart capacity is perfect for family meals, and the compact design doesn't take up as much counter space as I expected. The ceramic-coated baskets are nonstick, making food release easily and cleanup quick and effortless.

The air fryer heats up fast and cooks food evenly with a crispy, golden finish while using very little oil. The controls are intuitive, and the sync function makes it easy for both baskets to finish cooking at the same time. From chicken and vegetables to fries and desserts, everything comes out delicious.
