I was so so excited about this purchase. But I’m not that impressed with the performance. I’m kind of wishing I went with my second choice. I feel stuck since the company charged me extra international banking fees that I wasn’t aware of. I’m worried my return would not go smoothly. I should’ve ordered from Amazon instead of directly from the company. Dreame ships from a U.S. warehouse so I did get it quickly. I’ve been waiting years to purchase a mop vacuum because the reviews were not all that great. I did so much research and watched so many videos so I was pretty confident with my purchase. I love my old Neato robot. Customer service and the vacuum suction and cleaning is one of the best. Unfortunately the company never improved its technology and later went out of business. I upgraded when the roomba i7+ came out years ago because it was one of the first robots to map a room and empty itself. I’ve been very happy with it. The suction cleaning, not as good as my first one, but still very good. I’ve been running it for years without any problems. The app is so easy and nice. However once again I’m looking for that new technology that makes things easier. Dreame definitely has some of those features. Some of the things I love about this robot is that the mapping for the most part is great. It doesn’t take hours to map the house. It does a quick scan of all rooms then fills in as it cleans. Doesn’t bump in to most things aside from my kids feet. I’m not sure what that’s about because I don’t have this problem. Of course I move out of the way, but maybe it’s the movement that has this turning and then avoiding area all together. I have the pet avoidance off. My other vacuums I could jump in and out of it’s path without any issues and it would continue to clean that area. I love that I don’t have to race to pick up before it vacuums like I did with my other ones. It makes a huge difference! It still runs a couple cords over now and then. But for the most part it is pretty good. I have it scheduled to clean and mop everyday so I have to make sure to fill and empty water tanks after or at least before each job. I also love that it has its own light. My other ones I had to leave the lights on for it to vacuum when dark and I no longer have to do that. It’s nice that it leaves the mops at base when vacuuming carpet. I really like this feature but sometimes, not often, it doesn’t drop the mop pads all the way down into base frame. When this does happen, it can’t get back into the base when it returns. So you need to adjust the mop pads and then help it back on. The things I’m not so happy with is that the suction is suppose to be one of the best but leaves a lot of debris and clumps of dog hair behind. Maybe I’ve been spoiled with my other vacuums but I expected a lot more. Also the mopping still needs a lot of work! I get a lot of dirt marks from shoes and dog paws that it struggles to clean. I’m thinking it might even be dirt lines left behind from machine or pads. They’re dark smudges. I’ve tried every setting there is. I’ve tried clean genius, custom, the deep clean mopping, allowing max water, having it clean extra soiled areas a second time, etc. But it still leaves very noticeable dirt marks. The app is awful. I’m not surprised I saw a lot of reviews regarding this but I assumed it was probably user error. I’m pretty good with tech, but I DO NOT love this app. It’s not as smooth, quick or easy as my older ones. I had to add walls in some of the rooms because it didn’t map right and instead of just allowing me to add them I had to figure out how to put up extra walls extending across other rooms and then trying to remove parts of them to add the one wall I wanted. The vacuum sometimes thinks I have large area rugs in my hallway and master. It tries to randomly add them even though I say no when asked and then it refuses to clean any of those areas. I have to manually go in and remove them and reset it. I’m not sure what that’s about I have large area rugs in the front rooms that it has no issues with. The hallway is clean and clutter free. It also has same carpet that’s throughout the rest of my house. Two of the biggest issues I have with it is the side brush that doesn’t work on carpet so doesn’t get near wall like my roomba. Even my Neato got next to the wall with vacuum design and suction. This drives me nuts! Also sometimes the robot just does what it wants instead of the order I have it when I send it to clean. It’s fine when it’s scheduled. It’s just buggy sometimes. Definitely doesn’t dock on carpet. I only heard one review on that so I didn’t think much of it and it’s true. I first tried to have it in my office but it could not figure out how to line up or get onto the base. It just spun in circles, missed the base all together and tried to go to another room to find the base that it was trying to dock itself on. It still had several issues of not docking or charging when I put it on the base. ...
