Dreame X40 Master Robot Vacuum

I’ve had quite a few robots in the past. Historically, they have been separate robots for mop/vac/dust mop like functions. For whatever reason, we stopped using them and sold the devices. We had recently gone back to just a simple “empty the bin manually” robot vacuum, but my wife really wanted one that would auto-empty the dustbin. After doing some research, I settled on the Dreame X40 Ultra, primarily because of its excellent obstacle recognition and the hope that it would not run over any doggy accidents that might occur. Rarely does that happen, but my dog is an elderly fella and it does sometimes happen. So ordered the Ultra but then discovered they had the X40 Master that you could plumb into your house! So I returned the Ultra unopened and got the Master. It took a little bit of research to get everything I needed to plumb it in, but it is soooooo worth it. It’s essentially set it and forget it (excluding the occasional maintenance of course). It does a great job of keeping my floors clean, and because you don’t have to empty/fill tanks you can run the thing just about constantly. It has great customization in the app. My wife and I really like it and it helps keep our house cleaner than it has ever been. I highly recommend.

I received the x40 master & immediately realized that I had ordered the wrong one & couldn’t install the self draining waterline. Customer service is abysmal. Every time I email or call it starts from scratch. The one person whom was able to assist asked me to wait until end of December because the unit I wanted was sold out. Now they are saying I waited too long to return. They have refused to send me a return label! Horrible service and a unit that I cannot use.

I chose the x40 master over Qrevo thinking the robots were comparable. I should've considered the manufacturer. Roborock has amazing service and even stands behind their warranty. Dreame's support was terrible, and they dropped the ball when packing parts.

After multiple attempts trying to get an answer, then having them validate my purchase, I just gave up. $2k for a vacuum and I had to search and order a valve so I could install. And because of the delay, I finally got to test the performance after 30-day return policy.

The robot keeps mistaking my furniture and baseboards for wires. It also drips random puddles. The worst thing was it knocking over a planter and making a huge mess. Issues I've never had with roborock for years.

This self cleaning, self filling and self draining robot is as close to fully automated as anything on the market to date. Super impressed. The tri-cut brush is also the first robot vacuum brush I’ve had that eliminates almost all hair wrap. Impressive feature and worth the upgrade.

The Dreame X40 Master has been amazing! Its powerful cleaning features leave my floors spotless, and the MopExtend™ feature reaches under furniture and into corners effortlessly. The mop lift prevents carpets from getting wet, which is a huge plus. Setting up the dock was super easy, including the plumbing. It’s made cleaning completely hands-free and so much easier—I couldn’t be happier with it!
