If you're not afraid to spend some time setting it up and connecting it, the Dreame X40 Master Robot Vacuum with Auto Water Refilling and Draining will fully justify itself.
- The built-in vacuum doesn't take up space (I installed it under the stairs).
- The integrated design potentially reduces base station noise slightly, thanks to cabinets or other enclosures.
- Connecting to water and drainage removes a lot of maintenance hassle.
- The app is decent and packed with a million features.
- The vacuum itself is fairly quiet.
- The ability to leave the mop cloths at the base is a great solution to avoid dirtying carpets.
Cons:
- Very talkative :)
- The manual doesn't mention that the water and drainage tubes have valves. - - That means the water and drainage systems won’t work unless the tubes are laid out properly parallel to the base (this design might be inconvenient in some installations).
- My kit came with a water splitter that didn’t fit. There is a 1/2 inch version that does fit, but it’s not included. It would be nice if both types were provided in the box.
Postscript / Hint:
The water drain can be connected to the overflow pipe in a toilet tank. A simple and elegant solution.
All in all, I'm satisfied with the vacuum — it performs as expected.
